This is my Explain writing and my Assessment
There is a special place in the community that is
important to everyone. That place is the marae. Why is the marae a special place the community? |
Marae are special because they can hold our taonga.
When people walk in a marae they see lots of photos of
tupuna on the wall. This helps them to remember their memories. It also helps them to remember the history and the stories of whanau and the community. |
A marae is special because it is a place where people
can say goodbye to someone who died.
It is a place to cry to the person you loved and who died.
It is a place to awhi people who are sad. This is when people share their aroha and their awhi to help people. |
A Marae is special because it is a place to learn.
We can learn Te Reo Maori, Kapa Haka, to help
each other and to learn great teamwork. Everyone helps to cook the food, to set up the tables, to do the dishes and vacuum the floor.
It is a great way to build relationships and to make
connections with each other. |
So those are the reasons why I think that a marae is
special to the community. |
